Henderson, Scott Lorne, also know as "Scotty" or "Butch", loving son, brother, friend, husband, and father, left us tragically after unexpected complications of Legionnaires Disease on 7/14/11. He was 41 years old. Scott was surrounded by his wife and family at the time of his passing. He was a graduate of Hawthorne High School class of 1987. Scott was an active parishioner at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach as well as a coach and board member in the Wiseburn National Little League. Scott was friends with everybody and he knew no strangers. He grew up on 135th and Shoup . . . this was not just any corner, it was a destination that anybody could stop by day or night and be welcomed, a place where you were guaranteed a good time, a place for extended family and friends, a home away from home. Scott was the life of the party. He made everybody laugh. He had a passion for camping, fishing, a cold beer and family and friends coming together for his infamous BBQ skills. He had a huge heart and words cannot express how much he will truly be missed by all.
Scott is survived by his loving wife Toni and their three beautiful children, Briana (12) Ryan (9) and Kyle (6). His parents Ernest & Lois (Tootsie) Henderson, his brothers Gary Walley and Greg Henderson (Dora) and sister Lisa Jarvis (Bruce) along with his in-laws Edward and Irma Maldonado, sisters-in-law Mona Yamaguchi (Vern) and Lori Gordon. He will also be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews Ariana, Lauren, Greg, Jared, Jason, Jeffrey, Matthew, Robert, and Tyler along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends. Also left to mourn in this loss is his dog "Honey".
Scott will always be in our hearts but we all know his biggest regret is he is not here physically for his wife and children. Please join us in celebrating his life. Visitation will be held at Rice Mortuary in Torrance on Monday July 25, 2011 from 6 to 7:30pm, with the Rosary held at 7:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2011 at 11:30am at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Manhattan Beach followed by burial at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
For those wishing to honor Scott's memory, The Scott Henderson Family Memorial fund has been established at Wells Fargo Bank. Donations can be made at any branch in his name.
