

Sue was born to the late William and Alice Simkins in 1936 in Glendale, CA. She grew up in Leimert Park in the Crenshaw District and attended Dorsey High School. Sue was a graduate of Wright Macman Business School. She worked as a publications technical editor at TRW, and retired 21 years ago.
Sue was a member of American Martyrs Catholic Church, an avid walker, amazing gardener, accomplished volunteer, talented watercolor artist, and a beautiful soul. Her connection with God and deep faith were always recognizable as anyone who knows her would tell you that she made them feel as if they were the most important person in the world to her at that moment.
Sue is survived by her daughter, Lori (Spike) Howard of CO; and sons, Michael (Gina) Mulligan of CA, and William Mulligan of CA; step-daughter, Pam Shaw of CO; step-son Rick (Linda) Baca of Indiana; 14 grandchildren – Michael, Chad, Jennifer, Christina, Michael, Christopher, William, Jamie, Jason, Amy, Kyle, Robby, Joey and Nathan; 1 great-grandchild, Baily; and her sister, Linda Grover of CA. Her sister, Marianne Barrow and her husband and best friend Joe Baca of CA preceded her in death.
The Celebration Mass will be held at American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach on December 6th at 10:00 am. Donations in her honor may be made to American Heart Association www.heart.org/Donate or the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org/donate.
