Sylvia Jeanne Farris Schipper was born on January 31, 1925 in Lawndale, California. She attended and graduated from Leuzinger High School in Lawndale in February of 1943. She was a long time resident of Redondo Beach where she met and married her husband Martin Schipper "Skip", a United States Marine, at North Redondo Chapel on December 13, 1942.
She owned and operated her own flower shop and loved everything flower related - her yard still sings with her favorite roses.
She faithfully attended Journey of Faith Church in Manhattan Beach where she was a dedicated member of the Praise Singers and loved visiting the many nursing homes and facilities in the South Bay to spread the love and joy of Jesus to those who could not make weekly services.
She had three children: Linda Webb, James Schipper, and Ronald Schipper.
She is survived by her two granddaughters: Melissa Marlow and Sara Dietz. and three great-grandchildren: Faith Dietz, Grace Dietz and Bradley Marlow.
A memorial service will be Friday June 25, 2021 at 3:00 pm.
