Thomas Alberto Castillo

Thomas Alberto Castillo, also known as “Beto”, resident of Redondo Beach passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2020 at the age of 51. Beto was born in Gardena, CA on August 12, 1969. He is survived by his dad Thomas and Mother Maria Castillo; sisters Griselda Castillo and Cristelia Castillo; brother Daniel Castillo; nephew’s Anthony Rene Castillo; Cesar Alberto Castillo; Daniel Desi Castillo and grandniece Sophia Delilah Castillo.

Beto was born a healthy baby boy and unfortunately at the age of 7 was diagnosed with renal failure. The calamity of this discovery brought upon 44 years of numerous trips to hospitals, doctor visits, tests, surgeries, dialysis, and four kidney transplants. We had Beto with us longer than medically expected. His last kidney transplant lasted him 8 years. Through all his sufferings and struggles he strived to maintain a positive spirit.

Besides Beto working several jobs as an office manager, foreman, and clerk; the most important job he had was being a caretaker to his three nephews and his grandniece Sophia, whom she called “My Beto”.

Beto will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, selflessness, forgiving heart and concern for others. He loved the beach, loved to dance, and socially interact with all people. His kindness, loyalty and compassion towards his friends and family was limitless.

His legacy will live on in the heart and mind of everyone who he interacted with as well as those he reached but never personally met.
