
Heinlein, Thomas Edward, resident of Carson, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008 in Torrance. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas was 54 when he died. Tom came to California in 1965 and grew up in Redondo Beach. He attended Mira Costa High School where he played baseball and football. He was proud to have served the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974. In 1976 he moved to Lawndale with his wife Sue and they raised their 3 children there. He enjoyed surfing, the Dodgers, music, the Three Stooges, military history and coloring fuzzy poster art. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He is survived by Mother, Terry Heinlein, Daughter, Shannon Tabaldo (Mario), Son, Sean Heinlein (Natalia), Daughter, Jillian Hoffman (Derek), Granddaughters, Jordan, Mackenzie and Alexa, Brothers, Edward (Kerry), Robert (Mary), Ronald (Linda), Sisters Debbie (Chip), Karen Moore, sister –in-law Katia Heinlein, ex-wife Sue Heinlein, 13 nieces and nephews and 6 great-nephews. He was preceded in death by Father, Robert Heinlein.
Family and friends are invited to join in the following celebrations of his life. Viewing will be on Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 1:00 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. at McCormick Mortuary, 1998 S. PCH, Redondo Beach, CA. A Rosary service will follow at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church at 5:30 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence Martyr Catholic Church on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with a reception to follow in the hall. Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Surfrider Foundation, American Liver Foundation or a charity of your choice.
