Tina Marie Cortez, 67, of San Pedro, California passed away peacefully on June 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Tina was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She had a loving and kind heart and was always willing to help others, especially those she loved. Her love for her family was evident to all who knew her. Tina was an adoring mother and grandmother, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her five children and seven grandchildren. She cherished the time spent making memories with her babies. She loved Christmas, but any reason to gather with family was special to her.
Tina's love for music, especially Teena Marie, was deep-rooted in her soul, as it was a constant presence in her home. Tina never met a stranger. Her smile and spirit were infectious and welcomed everyone she met. She was a helper, a giver, and a hero to many. Tina continues her legacy by becoming a hero in death as an organ and tissue donor. Through her gifts, she will be helping up to 75 people live better and healthier lives.
We all have a Tina-shaped hole in our hearts. Though we feel her absence deeply, we take comfort in knowing that she will always be with us in spirit, watching over and praying for us from Heaven.
Mom, we miss and love you immensely. We adore you and thank you for being our foundation, our protector, and our forever best friend.
"I'll always love my mama
She's my favorite girl
You only get one, you only get one, yeah
I'll always love my mama
She brought me in this world..."
