

Tony passed away at age 83 on Sunday, December 22, 2024, in the presence of family at his home in Harbor City.
Tony was the beloved husband of Emma, his wife of 64 years; father of Lody and Cecilia (Jeff); grandfather of Samantha and Madelyn; and brother to Fely (deceased), Marianito (deceased), Inigo (deceased), Pacifico (deceased), Ambroscio, Jr. (deceased), Hernando, Nora, Cora, Maria Luz, Emmanuel, and Grace.
Tony Enriquez Evangelista was born on August 22, 1941, in Nasugbu, Batangas in the Philippine Islands to Ambroscio, Sr. and Cecilia Evangelista. As a teenager, he decided to enlist in the U.S. Navy and immigrated to the United States. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, attained the rank of Petty Officer First Class, and retired in 1979. Following his retirement from military service, he continued to serve his country through the United States Postal Service.
For many years, he was an usher at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church in Lomita and was active in the Pilipino community within the parish. He was also a member of the Carson Friendship Club and Cerritos Senior Circle. A dedicated family man, Tony was passionate about basketball and cars, and enjoyed bowling, traveling all over the world, entertaining, dancing, and singing.
