He was the son of Ruben and Julia Ordaz, the third of seven children and lived on Del Amo Boulevard, in a neighborhood called “La Rana” until he married his wife Maria Ann Ordaz in 1955 and moved to West Torrance.
Victor is survived by his sister Stella Gasset, wife Maria Ann, daughters, Mona Flores and Debbie Loayza. He had six grandchildren (Victoria, Joanna, Michael, Venessa, Marcus, and Samuel) and he was fortunate in enjoying an extended family of 12 great-grandchildren including: Jacob and Jordan Batory; Ethan, Ashlyn, Amelia, and Ainsley Puerta; Ryder and Jazlyn Flores; Pillar and Sebastain Flores and Isabel and Maya Toth.
Victor left a lasting impression on anyone who met and knew him. "Iron Vic" as he was affectionately called was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Victor worked for the City of Torrance as a heavy equipment operator for 44 years. The longest city employee at that time. He loved his job and all the friends he made working for the city.
Victor was always active. He was an avid athlete in track, baseball and football which earned him many awards at Torrance High, and beyond. If he wasn’t playing on a baseball field, you could always catch him in the stands. Victor will be remembered for his sense of humor and love of life.
