

Wanda was born on February 11, 1932 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Donald and Frieda Coleman. The eldest of seven children, she attended school until the 9th grade. As a teenager, she started working as a carhop at the local A&W Restaurant, and it was there where she met her future husband, Guy Richards. They were married in 1950, and they had three children- Pamela Lee, Debra Ann and Guy “Skip” Jr. In 1962, her family moved to California and eventually settled in Hawthorne where she lived for 61 years.
Wanda worked as an Electrical Assembler for King Seeley and Burroughs Corp in Michigan. After arriving in California, she first worked for Philco Ford, then she moved on to Teledyne Controls. Wanda finished her career by retiring from Hughes Aircraft/GM/Boeing in 1994.
Wanda’s interests included card games, cruise travelling, going on walks around the neighborhood, puzzles and Bingo. She was a regular Bingo player at the Gardena Elks Lodge and the Gardena VFW until 2023.
Wanda joins in rest her husbands, Guy Richards Sr. and Edward Weldy, daughter Pam Busted, parents Donald and Frieda Coleman, siblings Carol Gibson, Donald Coleman Jr, Robert Coleman and Larry Coleman, and Debby’s husband Bob Mayfield. She is survived by her daughter Debby Condis Mayfield, son Skip (Roni) Richards, Pam’s husband Carlos Busted Sr., grandsons Carlos (Brandie) Busted Jr, Ed (Brandi) Busted, Rafael “Buddy” (Crystal) Condis, granddaughters Nora Rivera, Kristi (Doug) Richards, Kari (Greg) Lepore and Kodi Richards, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, February 22, 2026 between 4PM to 8PM with a Vigil at 6PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 10AM followed by a reception. Services will be held at
