Wayne Robert Williams

Wayne Williams was born on February 19, 1954 in Los Angeles, California. Wayne was the youngest of nine children born to Theodore and Ophelia Williams. Both parents and six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. As the baby of the bunch, Wayne was spoiled by everyone. He relied on his boyish charm and wit to have his way and keep his family laughing. They often just sighed and replied, "That's Wayne." Wayne attended school in and around Compton, California. As a young man he discovered that he had a talent for drawing and wood work. He also collected gothic figurines and pictures.

In his late teenage years Wayne met and fell in love with Myrtle Haywood. Theirs was a relationship, like many young relationships, that was filled with good times and bad. To this relationship was born one child, Shataquga, known by most as Brandy. During this time though Wayne made mistakes as most young men do, the years came when he began to mature and make positive changes in his life.

The late 1970's was a very significant time. During this period Wayne started a career at West Lock, Inc. where he worked for over 15 years. He also found love for what would later become one of his trademarks, recording and collecting music. More notably he met and married Willie-Nell Bennett. To their union was born three daughters: Janell, Ebony, and Jasmine. The couple also started two successful businesses: Williams' Family Daycare and Willie's Janitorial Service.

Yet something was still missing from his life - his spirituality. Though raised by his mother as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Wayne, as a child, didn't appreciate the spiritual truths taught to him. However, in the mid- eighties Wayne came to have a deeper appreciation for his religious upbringing. As a result he began studying the bible and soon dedicated his life and got baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness. In 1989 the family moved to Norco, California where they purchased their first home and expanded their janitorial business. In 1998 Wayne moved back to Los Angeles by himself. He would work for several different companies, being well known and loved by his co-workers. Several years later, he met and married Ruth Scott-Johnson. She was his wife until his death.

Wayne is survived by his wife Ruth Scott-Williams; four daughters, Shataquga "Brandy" Williams of Los Angeles, California.; Janell Dunn of Compton, California.; Ebony Williams of Compton, California; and Jasmine Williams of Moreno Valley, California; one son - in - law : Anthony Dunn; two grandsons: Kapri Williams and Isaiah Lowe; two sisters: Annette Lee of Riverside, California and Deborah Martin of San Leandro, California; one honorary daughter, Sarah Grimmius of Norco, California; a special friend: Sharon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
