Alice M Drake

Alice M. Drake 88, of Traverse City died on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at Bortz Health Care surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 17, 1922 the daughter of Floyd and Ella (Cooper) Addington. Alice married Donald Sterzik in 1941, he preceded her in death, she then married William Drake and he also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, waitress, a member of the VFW Ladies auxiliary in Traverse City and also Kalkaska. Alice enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and bowling. She truly loved her family and grandchildren. Alice is survived by her five children; Donald (Ruth) Sterzik of Florida, Diane (Jeremy) Johnson of Muskegon, Mary (Bob) Wilson of Buckley, Marsha Olson of Coldwater, and David Sterzik of Arkansas, (12) grandchildren, (24) great-grandchildren, and (4) great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her granddaughter. A Private burial will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given in Alice’s name to the Cherryland Humane Society, 1750 Ahlberg Rd, Traverse City. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home, Traverse City.
