

Edward E. Walsh age 76 of Elk Rapids, Mi passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He was born October 26, 1936 in Dearborn to Earl and Dorothy (Henderson) Walsh. He was raised in Melvindale and graduated from Melvindale High School. After High School , he attended M.S.U. and went on to Henry Ford Trade School to became a journeyman Tool and Die maker. He married the late Germaine Angyan in 1956. Together they raised 6 children. Ed worked for over 30 years for Chrysler Automotive. Ed and Germaine moved to Elk Rapids in 2000. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed boating and going for walks in the woods. He also enjoyed watching the birds and the sunset from his window. Ed was a hard worker and amateur historian.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Katheline (Bill) Biniak of Alabama, Karene (Mike) Kimble of Sterling Heights, Edward (Ann Marie) Walsh of Traverse City, William (Nancy) Walsh of Roseville, David (Robin) Walsh of Bloomfield Twp., and Carolyn Walsh of Elk Rapids; 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two siblings Leora Upton of Bellville and Claude (Sharon) Walsh of Elk Rapids; a sister-in-law Suzanne Angyan of Sterling Heights.
Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife Germaine in 2008.
A memorial service will be held Friday August 2, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Big Beaver United Methodist Church in Troy, MI.
Memorial contributions in Ed’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
