H. Jennie Wilsey

H. Jennie Wilsey, 100, of Traverse City, passed away the evening of Friday, December 6, 2013 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. Jennie was born March 11, 1913 on the family farm near Grygla, MN to the late Andrew and Martha (Hanson) Arne.

In 1939 Jennie married Raymond Wilsey in Traverse City. She was always happy to see her family and many friends. They would always be welcomed to her home with a cup of coffee and homemade cookies or pie. A woman of faith and member of First Baptist Church, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and doing crafts as well as being an accomplished seamstress. She was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ray, sister Anna, infant sister Irene, brothers Harold, Irvin, and Alfred. She is survived by her two sons Wayne (Alice) Wilsey of Saginaw, and Harold (Tana) Wilsey of Traverse City, grandsons Ray (Jeaneth) Wilsey of Northville, Ryan (Avi) Wilsey of Cedar Creek, TX, Ross Wilsey of Austin, TX, and Dave (Julie) Wilsey of Grand Rapids, and great grandchild Miranda Wilsey.

A Memorial Service for Jennie will be held on Friday December 13, 2013 at 11am, with visitation one hour prior, at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City.
