Maria Dimitroff Donovan

She graduated from Wayne State, Grand Valley and Marygrove College. Maria worked for TCAPS and TBAISD as a special education teacher for over 20 years. She was an accomplished artist and an avid button collector. She was a member of the Michigan Button Society, and she was a member of the Macedonian Patriotic Organization.

Maria will be greatly missed by her sons, David (Jenifer Witt) Donovan and Alexander Donovan, both of Traverse City; three siblings, Tina (Michael) Kass, Alexandra Dimitroff and Stephanie (Steve) Ambrose; and nieces and nephew, Lili and Katy Dimitroff and Alexander Kass. Maria was preceded in death by her parents.

Per her wishes, cremation took place. A memorial service was planned for the spring.

Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
