She was born January 2, 1921 in Elk Rapids to William and Selma (Wilde) Greene.
Marian is survived by her daughters: Mary (Otto) Eichholtz, Linda (Dennis) Squires, Nancy (Michael) Flinta, Selma (Carl) Reiter, Joanne (Frank) Doty, Judy Hankins, and Karen (Charles) Holborn; many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ernest Hankins, children: Donna Porter, Shirley Behrns, Ernest Hankins Jr., and Robert Hankins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City, with visitation from 1 until the time of service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
