Michelle M. Hillier

INTERLOCHEN - Michelle "Mickie" Marie Hillier, 32, of Interlochen, passed away peacefully at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, last Friday, June 29th, 2012, after a long and valiant battle with Leukemia.

Mickie was born Aug. 18th, 1979, in Traverse City, MI to Roberta Smith and Jeffrey Bennetts of Traverse City. Mickie was a loving wife and mother of two. She leaves behind; 6 year old Carson Micah, 2 year old Aaliyah May Hillier, and her loving husband of 8 years, Gary Matthew Hillier.

Mickie enjoyed music, outdoor sports, and many other things, but most importantly, she enjoyed being surrounded by her loving friends and family, sharing laughter and making memories. Mickie truly was a selfless individual who would do anything for her loved ones, and would even go out of her way for people she didn't know.

Surviving is her husband Gary; children, Carson and Aaliyah; parents, Roberta and Jeff; siblings, Jeffrey "JJ" Frederick, Benjaman Bennetts, Kammeron Bennetts, Carrie Bennetts, Christopher Bennetts, and Kelly Roy; aunts, Jeanie Frederick, Bernice Frederick, and Denise Frederick; Uncles, Glenn Bennetts and James Bennetts. She will also be missed dearly by her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, George and Madge Hillier, her grandparents, Gabriel and Joan Bennetts, and grandmother Donna Cheylava, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Mickie is preceded in death by her grandfather, Henry Petch and uncles William Frederick Jr. and Lawernce Frederick.

A memorial service will be held at Covell Funeral Home on Friday, July 6th, with at 12:00pm visitation and 1:00pm service. Mickie will be buried at Memorial Gardens, on Veterans Drive in Traverse City.
