

Richard graduated from Kingsley High School in 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Richard served as a communication specialist on the USS Norris.
Richard worked for Lucent Technologies until he retired after 38 years. During his employment Richard fondly remembered traveling to Korea to install a working switch at an expo. He was a member of the NRA and the Eagles. In his spare time he enjoyed farming and animals, especially his donkeys. He also enjoyed snowmobiling during the Northern Michigan winters.
Richard owned and operated Dick's Games, where he supplied jukeboxes and pool tables to bars and other businesses. He also owned rental properties in the Kingsley area. Richard loved the different characters he would encounter while out at these establishments and properties.
Richard is survived by his wife of 22 years, Cindy Hood, of Kingsley; siblings, Sandra Camp, of Berrien Springs, and Daniel (Debora) Hood, of Canon City, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Per his wishes, cremation took place, and a private celebration was held.
Memorial contributions in Richard's name were directed to the Kingsley Fire Department and Ambulance or the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
