Robert Lee Stahl Sr.

Robert L. Stahl Sr., age 89, of Traverse City, formerly of Mt. Clemens, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, June 11, 2015. He was born March 13, 1926 in Detroit to Walter and Ada (Hodsell) Stahl.

Robert married the late Alyce Bryson on October 15, 1949 in Detroit. Together they raised 5 children.

Robert had a love for Traverse City and Lake Leelanau in particular. He sold his grocery store business in 1972 and moved his family from Mt. Clemens up to their cottage on Lake Leelanau. He will be greatly missed by his children: Robert L. (Jodi) Stahl Jr., Deborah Hahnenberg, Darcy Stahl, and Tammy (Kurt) Hubschneider; sister: Shirley MacDonald; six grandchildren, 1 great grandchild.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Alyce, daughter Sharon Lynn Salenski, and two brothers Walter and Jack.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a family memorial service with military honors will be held July 3, 2015 at his sister’s home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Traverse City.
