Sharon Biedron

Sharon M. Biedron, age 71 of Traverse City passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. She was born June 2, 1943 in Traverse City. She was the daughter of James and Elizabeth “Gladys” (Stanislawski) Breithaupt.

Sharon graduated from Buckley High School in 1961. Sharon married the one God made for her; Lawrence J. Biedron on April 15, 1967 at Immaculate Conception in Traverse City. Their 47 years of marriage have been a true and blessed gift from God. Their love, unity and tenderness for each other have been our example of what true love is.

Sharon loved laughter and fully believed that nothing was more important than having a great time and found a way to turn every event into a celebration. She enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, playing cards, dancing, cooking, talking on the phone and more dancing. Her pride for us cannot be measured. Her love for us; and the bond she shares with each of us is unequivocal. True blessings we were to her. She taught us lessons that can never be found in any book; lessons of true love, dedication, unending praise and hard work.

Above all, her 9 grandchildren were the greatest treasure of her life. Each one knew her adoration for them and how they were held in the center of her heart. Sharon’s life and the gifts of our lives will be treasured forever.

She will forever be missed by her husband Larry, daughters: Michelle (Rob) Martin of Kentwood, Kim (Jim) Walters of Traverse City, and Lori Bristol of Traverse City; 9 grandchildren: Zach, Alex, Nathan, Emily, Ben, Abbie, Heidi, Logan, and Sydney; sister Phyllis Breithaupt of Cadillac, brother Jim (Arvena) Breithaupt of Buckley, sister Carolyn (Sonny) Gutzka of Traverse City; Mother-in-law Jean Crawford brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Jan (John) Pavelec of Boise Idaho; Sally (Keith) Morrison of Redondo Beach California; Jack (Arlene) Biedron of Traverse City and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Joseph J. Biedron and brother-in-law Joseph S. Biedron.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2014 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm, with a Rosary at 8pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 11:30 am at St. Francis Catholic Church with visitation 1 hour prior. Burial will take place at Oakwood Catholic Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate Sharon’s life will follow at the Elk’s in Traverse City.

Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name may be directed to Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools (GTACS).
