
Tamara R. Pifer, age 51 of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Munson Medical Center. She was born March 3, 1962 in Adrian, Michigan. She graduated from Pathfinder High School in 1979. Tam attended NMC where she received her bachelors degree in business. She then went on to receive her masters degree in religion from Pathways of Light in Wisconsin. She married Nathan Stevens in Traverse City on July 4, 1987.
Tam had a passion for her dogs. She bread Scottish Terriers and West Highland Terriers for over 20 years. She presided over many weddings as a minister and took a special interest in Native American ceremonies. Tam enjoyed gardening, flowers, especially her roses, and crafting in her spare time. She also loved astrology and horoscopes. She was a realtor and loved to sell houses. Tam liked poetry and reading. She made great margaritas! If there was any remaining spare time, she was with her dogs, she loved those dogs!
Tam is survived by her husband Nathan Stevens, father Allen pifer, step son Joshua (Ali ) Stevens of California, 2 siblings: Tonja (Tim) Carlson and Todd (Joyce) Pifer; many nieces and nephews, and her precious dogs who were like children to her.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Pifer and brother Takis Pifer.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11 am at the Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior.
Memorial contributions in Tam’s name may be directed to the Allen Pifer Scholarship fund at NMC or the Cherryland Humane Society.
