

He served as a ball turret gunner during WWII with the United States Army Air Corps and flew 19 combat missions in Europe. After the war, Alfred graduated from Syracuse University and soon married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Mosher of Poughkeepsie who predeceased him in 2006. They celebrated 57 years together.
Alfred moved his young family to Charlotte NC in 1955 to start his career in the tobacco business with Lorillard. In 1966 he moved his family to Atlanta to begin a career in vending machine sales with Coffee-Mat Corporation traveling from Washington DC to Texas.
Alfred was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for 50 years and the Knights of Columbus.
Alfred is survived by his 2 sons and their wives, Rich and Jo Anne of Dunwoody Ga and Bobby and Rhonda of Columbia SC. Also surviving are grandsons, Scott, Russ, Jeff and Brad and several nieces and nephews in NY, Texas and California.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 3175 Hathaway Ct. NE Atlanta GA 30341 on Friday, Jan 27 with visitation at 1pm preceding the Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial will be at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt. Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs GA 30328 immediately following the service.
