Annabella "Andee" Lester Kimsey passed away on February 3, 2024. She was born on February 10, 1931 to Virgil and Ivory Lester. Andee met the love of her life Robert Anderson Kimsey in an elevator; they went on to have 62+ years together.
Andee and Robert had four children: Rodney (Vanessa) Kimsey, Becky (Joe) Mele, Richard (Susan) Kimsey, Robert (Linda) Kimsey, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio and there built an amazing life together. Mom was home with us all week when dad traveled: she was PTA President, Den Mother for Cubs/Brownies; she made Becky's clothes and all of our Easter outfits, from coat jackets to dresses and hats. She taught Sunday school and worked tirelessly at being the best mom. In 1969, dad was transferred to Georgia for work and within three visits, mom and dad had found our church home at Rehoboth Baptist where she was immediately drawn to the choir and teaching Sunday school.
In the later years, mom went to work in the corporate world and did administrative work for two large companies. Though her work was very important to her, what led mom's life in every aspect, was leading others to the Lord. She exemplified the perfect Christian mother in every way.
Mom and dad loved to travel, but especially enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land, was an avid collector; she loved horses, Precious Moment figures, Crystal and Cranberry glass. She was an amazing cook; she loved her koi pond, butterfly bushes and above all Dad and her children and grandchildren.
In his later years ,dad was legally blind and mom never wavered in her care of him. She often whispered to him in church who was coming his way, so he could call everyone by name. After dad's passing, mom moved in to an apartment built for her at Rodney and Vanessa's house in Duluth, where she spent her final days. She was surrounded by those that loved her and saw friends that came by. She remained loving, kind, sweet and the same angelic, tenderhearted and loving mom we have always known.
