Benjamin Oliver Ward Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Funeral Home.

Mr. Ward was born on May 14, 1943, the son of the late John S. Ward, Sr., and Marie Fussell Ward. He was a graduate of Druid Hills High School, active in his church, Demolays, Eastern Star and was a Mason. He was a retired contractor and was involved with the Boy Scouts for most of his life. In later years as a Cubmaster for Pack 590 in Norcross and more recently as Webelo Leader for his son's den in Pack 509, Lilburn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Gregory D. Ward and his brothers, Richard F. Ward, John S. Ward, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Linda P. Ward; son, Benjamin O. Ward, Jr.; nephew, John S. Ward, III of Pocatello, ID; nieces, Marie Ward of Napierville, IL, and Melissa Harned of Murrells Inlet, SC; step children, Brett Compton of Milledgeville, Danielle and Jordan Compton of Lilburn.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at the funeral home.
