Bert Ransom Adams, 86, of Roswell, Georgia died Thursday, December 8, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Lansdell Adams, son and daughter in-law, Mark and Sophie Adams, two grandchildren, William and George, and sister Caroline Brown and children. He was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Adams.
Bert attained degrees from the University of Arkansas and University of Miami, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He also served as Captain in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong follower of the Methodist Church. In 1994, Bert retired from Nationwide Papers a division of Champion International Corp. As a life member of Ansley-Settindown Creek Golf Clubs, he cherished his many friends, especially the Senior Men’s Golf Association where he served in many capacities through the years. He was also a member and a past Director of the Georgia Senior Golf Association where he and Barbara spent many happy hours enjoying beautiful golf courses and resorts. Bert will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends, his good humor and happy smile as well as his dedication to whatever project was at hand. He will be laid to rest by his family and a private memorial will take place at a later date.
