

She was a 1946 graduate of Tubman High School in Augusta, GA. In 1949, while employed by the National Exchange Bank in Augusta, she married Donald Timmerman and they celebrated 62 years together. They moved to Atlanta in 1950 where she was employed by the Trust Company of Georgia Bank as a bank teller until deciding to devote her time as a mother and full time homemaker.
Bess lived her life as a testimony to her Christian faith. She was very active in the work of the church her entire life. She was a charter member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church. She was a loving, caring person with great patience, and showed generosity for everyone she knew.
She is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Diane Bryant and her husband Richard; son, Ken Timmerman and his wife Vicki; and grandchildren, Kendra Moore and her husband Chad, Brittany Timmerman, Dustin Bryant and his partner Eva Visscher-Simon, and Kelsey Bryant.
Also surviving are her two sisters, Pauline Merritt and Corine Dugger.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Wieuca Road Baptist
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wieuca Road Baptist Church, 3626 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30326.
