Brenda’s unwavering faith guided her relationships and daily life. As a mother of two, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of two, Brenda shared her strong values and Christian beliefs with her entire family. Throughout her life, Brenda worked in many roles within her community with dedication, including phone operator, insurance employee, and recreational secretary at Rehoboth Baptist Church. She led by example, volunteering at church, directing and teaching at a weekly women’s Bible study at North Metro Baptist Church for many years, and serving on the board at the Gwinnett Pregnancy Center. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she loved spending time with them and attending their events.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Lucy Adams, her husband Dan Blackwell, and her sisters Sarah Wall and Deborah Merrick.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Hearn (Rick), Cindy Wortham (Jay); her sisters, Martha Griffin and Lanelle Kay; her grandchildren, Lauren Hearn, Katie Wortham, Tyler Wortham, and Abby House (Brayden); and great-grandsons, Tyson Barr and Grayson House.
Her celebration of life and faith will be at the Floral Hills Funeral Home Chapel on January 9, 2025, at 3 pm EST with interment at Floral Hills Memory Gardens following the service.
