Cassie M. Doe was born to the late Sidney and Lillie Fluitt, on January 10, 1935, in Quitman, Georgia. She graduated from Valdosta High School and built a successful career at Long Island Developmental Center, where she dedicated her skills for 28 years. She was one of seven children. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister Lavonia (Elder Leon) Henderson and her brother Jerome (Mattie) Fluitt. Siblings preceding her in death are: Roosevelt Graham, Betty Henderson, Sidney Fluitt, Jr. and Brenda Nieto.
Not long after high school, she moved to Amityville, New York where she met her husband of 34 years, the late Harry Doe, Sr. with whom she raised 5 children: Beverly (James) Magee, the late Debra (Phillip) Johnson, Ida Polite, Harry (Anitria) Doe, Jr. and Lillie Doe. She was a pillar of strength to 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She had a love for traveling, bowling and playing BINGO, but will be most remembered for her amazing smile and her giving heart.
