A native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Atlanta, Georgia, Charles “Chip” Janvier III, 62, died on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his home. The memorial service was held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Dunwoody Baptist Church, Dunwoody, GA. Chip loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed sharing his family home in Highlands, North Carolina with anyone who could use that expansion of cool mountain air. He had a life-long love of rafting, kayaking, grilling, picnicking, hiking, landscaping, system building, learning, and holding forth, and shared all his life with family and friends forcefully and without exhaustion. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Margaret Thomasson Janvier, and proud daughters Kathleen Fowler, Courtney Paige, and Amy Joy; In-laws Dann Mackey Thomasson of Severna Park, MD, and wife Janet Bass Thomasson, and their children William Mackey, John Patrick, and Sarah Anne; Peter Labouisse of New Orleans and his children Charles Janvier Labouisse, Mary Frances Labouisse Adriance. Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucy Joy Janvier II, and his sister, Meredith “Muz” Labouisse.
