Dianna Strickland Capps

Dianna Capps of Tucker, Ga, lost her battle to cancer on December 7, 2021, at 71 years of age. Dianna was born Dianna Lynn Strickland on December 18, 1949, in Fort Benning, Ga, to 1SG (Ret) W.C and Eleanor Strickland. Dianna retired from Allied after 30 years of service working in insurance claims and was recently in an administrative role at the Grecian Gyro in Tucker, Ga.

Dianna is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Hugh Capps II, of Tucker, Ga. Her children- Laura Ann Capps of Tucker, Ga, Debbie and Larry Sipes of Olive Branch, MS, James Hugh Capps III of Tucker, Ga, and Brian Scott Capps, of Tucker, Ga. Her mother, Eleanor Rose Strickland, 96, of Columbus, Ga, sisters Karen and Jimmy Enfinger of Powder Springs, Ga, Brenda and Kenny Holderfield of Smithfield, NC, Wanda and Kevin Jackson of Columbus, Ga, and brother Gary Strickland of Columbus, Ga. Her Grandchildren- Michael and Brittany Capps of Bethlehem, Ga, Kayla Sipes of Demorest, Ga, Emily Sipes of Buford, Ga, Danielle and late Dane Gilliland of Athens, Ga, Petty Officer Second Class Joshua Capps of Tucker, Ga, and Ryleigh Capps of Tucker, Ga. As well as seven great-grandchildren, Summer, Braelyn, Natalie, Reagen, Addilyn, Addyson, and Kennedy, several in-laws, multiple nieces and nephews, and countless cousins and friends.

Dianna is preceded in death by her father, 1SG (Ret) W.C. Strickland, eldest brother Darrell C. Strickland, and mother and father-in-law, MSG (Ret) James Hugh Capps I, and Hazel Helen Capps.

Dianna was a woman of great faith and loved her family more than anything in the world. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Dianna enjoyed spending time in her garden. She loved The Lord, her country, Elvis, and the Christmas holidays especially. She was an incredible person with an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful heart.

She will be forever loved and sorely missed by her family and the lives she touched.

A visitation for Dianna will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 17, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. A reception will occur Friday, December 17, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084.
