Dorothy L. Smith, 86, of Doraville, died peacefully on May 28, 2014 with her children at her side, after a two year struggle with cancer. Dorothy was born August 12, 1927 to the late James and Katherine Wallace. She was raised in Cedartown, GA before moving to Rockmart, GA, where she met and married the man of her dreams, the late Hugh S. Smith. After marrying, the two moved to Doraville and made that their permanent home.
Dorothy had 10 brothers and sisters, all of whom have predeceased her. She raised four children, and was always a constant source of love and support to each of them. Her children and grandchild were her life.
Dorothy is survived by son David Smith, daughter Janice Hendrix, both of Doraville, daughter Paula Rigoli and husband Rich of Tuxedo, NY, one grandchild, Joshua Smith of Norcross, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 1st, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm, and the funeral will be Monday, June 2nd, 2014 at 11am at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084.
