She met her husband, Jack, while working at Fort Benning Army Base, and they were married in July 1960. Together they raised four daughters and shared a life shaped by Jack’s military service, living in many places before settling in Lilburn, Georgia.
Faye worked for more than 20 years with the Internal Revenue Service before retiring. She then devoted nearly two decades to serving her church family at Mountain Park United Methodist Church through numerous volunteer roles.
An avid reader and talented seamstress, Faye lovingly shared her creativity and passions with her family. Fiercely independent, she embodied grace and strength. Even as dementia dimmed her memories in later years, her kindness and gentle spirit remained.
Faye is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Susan and Bill, Cynthia and Rusty, Laura and Neal, and Mary Lynn and Charles, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Ann and Nancy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents John and Grace Lane, her sister Evelyn and brother John T.
A celebration of life and reception will be held at Mountain Park United Methodist Church on January 23rd at 11:00am ET. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation https://alzfdn.org/ in her honor.
