Gloria “Ann” Horne was born to Grace and Julius Herren in 1933, as the fourth of five children. She went to high school at Clarkston High School before marrying her first love, Raymond Pozza. Ann and Ray enjoyed laughing and playing cards with their siblings, and they had two sons, Timothy and Daniel Pozza.
Ann proudly graduated from Greenleaf Business College in 1959, and she enjoyed her work as a secretary for thirty years with the Georgia Department of Health.
Ann was spirited, resourceful, independent, strong, and she loved to “carry on” with her family and friends. She enjoyed dancing, painting, playing the banjo, playing bingo, and she adored Elvis Presley.
She was also an avid golfer, which she enjoyed with her second husband, Carl Horne. Together, Ann and Carl traveled across the US, with some of her favorite stops in Cherokee, Tennessee and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Ann is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Pat Herren; her son, Tim Pozza; her grandchildren, Tonya Newberry, Chris Pozza, Brandy Parrish, Jenn Pozza, and Dana Pozza; and her four great grandchildren. She is now reunited in love with her mother, her 4 siblings, her husbands Ray and Carl, her son Danny, her grandson Lance, and several other loved ones that passed before her.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, July 18th, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital, a cause and foundation that she supported.
