

Helen grew up in Canton, GA and attended Women’s College of GA and Draughon School of Commerce. She worked in the patent office of Bell Bomber Plant in Marietta during World War II, and then at Coca Cola Headquarters. After the war, she met and married Jack W. Hale and they made Atlanta their home. She focused on raising their three children before returning to work at Rich’s/Macy’s North Dekalb Mall, in sales and then Personnel Department, where she retired. She was a member of Oak Grove UMC. Helen loved her family, animals, the mountains, fried shrimp and the beach, and any opportunity for a great shopping trip.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Hale; son, Jack Jr; and grandson, Jack III. She is survived by daughters, Betsy Hale Roach (Al), Marietta, GA; and Susann Hale Freeland (Doug), Atlanta, GA; grandson, Kevin Roach (Joy), Jersey City, NJ; step-grandchildren, Natalie Tennison (Andy), Castle Rock, CO; Alan Roach, Dahlonega, GA; and four step- great grandchildren.
Visitation on Saturday, September 10, 2016, from 1:00-2:30pm at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA 30084. Private family graveside service.
