He was born in Richmond, VA the son of the late John Michael Brooks Sr., and Josephine Hanky Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Ballas Brooks, and his sisters, Jean Lord and Dot Sullivan.
Survivors include his children, Stephen (Carol) Brooks of Athens, GA, Joanne (Bob) Thomas, of Jacksonville, FL, Jim Brooks of Aurora, CO, Paula Reid of York, WE, brother, Wallace C. (Evelyn) Brooks, Sr. of Fort Myers, FL. grandchildren, Abby Myers, Kelly Morris, Stefanie Brooks, Sarah Brooks, Ashley Brooks, Keyann Reid, Craig Brooks, Evan Brooks, and Stephen Reid, great grandchildren, Skyler Morris, Robby Morris, Haley Morris, Taylor Myers, Fain Hunt, and Jamison Hunt.
Memorial Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 am. Inurnment in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
