Joseph Franklin Floyd

He was the son of the late Charles “Jack" and Rosa Lee Floyd of Greer, SC. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 67 years, Fay Floyd; son Greg Floyd of Buford Ga, daughter Cheryl Huggins of Mount Pleasant, SC, daughter-in-law Lisa Floyd, son-in-law J. Huggins and four grandsons Drew Floyd, Brent Floyd, Max Huggins and Sean Huggins. Joe was born in Pelzer, SC and grew up in Greer, SC.

After marrying, Joe and Fay moved to Chamblee, Ga. where they started a family and met their friend group of 65 plus years affectionately known as “The Herd.” Joe attended Wofford College and Southern Tech. He loved his country and served in the Army during the Korean War. His career was in packaging sales. Joe enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, watching the Atlanta Braves, a good margarita, but mostly spending time with his family!

A memorial service will be held June 17, 2023 at 2:00 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, Ga 30084. A reception will be held immediately after at Floral Hills. All family and friends are invited.
