Letvia Maria Arza, better known as Nena, left this world on March 18, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born to Roberto Goderich and Josefa Cañizares on October 16, 1930, in Santiago de Cuba. After graduating as a teacher, she married Reinaldo “Tito” Arza, the love of her life, on December 28, 1950. Nena and Tito had four children – Letvia, Reinaldo, Edgardo and Liset. In 1965, the family left Cuba seeking a better life in the U.S. A great beauty and quite a character, she enjoyed life to the fullest. By sharing stories of her love, challenges, adventures and experiences, she showed all who were fortunate enough to be part of her life her giving heart, courage and determination that were inspiration and encouragement in disguise.
She will be forever cherished and missed by her children and their spouses Juan, Sandy, Angela and Douglas; her grandchildren Luis, Alexandra, Gilberto, Reinaldo and Juan; Cassie, Landon, Kalee, John and Adam; Gaven, Eryk, Kirk and Carli; Elyse and Chelsea; their life partners; and her many great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Letvia will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cremation, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084.
