Lois Ellen Martin

Lois Ellen Smith Martin, age 89, died on September 28, 2019, in Chattanooga, TN. Lois is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and John Roberts of Chattanooga, TN, her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Colleen Martin of Tucker, GA, her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Betty Smith of Stone Mountain, and her brother-in-law, Claude Mills of Lawrenceville, Ga. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeff Roberts and wife Mandi, and Amanda Roberts Gentry and husband Ryan Gentry. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David (Red) Martin of Tucker, Georgia, her sister, Carolyn Mills of Lawrenceville, Georgia and her brother, Leroy Smith of Lawrenceville, Georgia. Lois was born on October 27, 1929 in Gwinnett County, GA to parents Eula Fowler Smith and Robert Smith. She worked as a seamstress for many years. Lois loved her family and was a great mother and sister. She married Red Martin in 1948 and the couple had two children, Martha and Bobby. Lois was very active in her church, and was involved with her children and their interests. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply and was involved in their activities also. Her family and friends will always remember her as a compassionate, hard-working person.

A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Floral Hills in Tucker. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois's life. The family would like to thank everyone for prayers and kind thoughts. Also the family would like to thank Morning Pointe of Hixson, TN for the excellent and loving care of Lois.
