She was born in Boston, MA on June 24, 1928 the daughter of Charles Douglas Kean and Lisabeth (Curran) Kean.
She grew up in Marblehead, MA where her favorite activities were boating and playing the flute and piccolo in the school band. Marie attended Tufts College, Medford, MA where she received a BA in Economics in 1950. She was a member of AOPi. While at Tufts she met Harry Hewey, her future husband of more than 59 years.
She retired after a career in banking, investments, and insurance.
Her hobbies include, boating, travel, cruising, fishing, the flute, and Republican politics.
She is survived by her husband, Harry of Stone Mountain, GA and her nieces Marianne Skomurski and Suzanne Young and their families, both of MA.
She was a resident of DeKalb County for 55 years.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11 am in the chapel of Floral Hills Funeral Home.
