Veneda Silvanee Rogers-Lee passed away on April 21st, 2025 at the age of 90. She was born on the island of Anguilla in the British West Indies to her parents, Sydney Benjamin Rogers and Veronique Bryan Rogers. In 1952, Veneda received her citizenship and settled in New York. Veneda went on to receive a bachelor's degree in business at NYU, raising her children Delone, Carol, Martin, Aleathia, Veneda, and Nadine while working a full-time job at Banker's Trust. In the 1990s, she relocated to Georgia and raised her last two loveable kids, Alexis and Asia. While undergoing breast cancer treatment, Veneda met a Jehovah's Witness who introduced her to the faith which led to her becoming a Witness for 40+ years.
Through the years, Veneda’s home was filled with the love of her congregation and family. Often, you could find her in the sunroom reading her Bible or in the family room starting a new crochet project. Once she figured out how to use her phone, you could find her talking to her kids about her latest sewing and baking projects for hours. Her home was a rotating door for family and friends, she loved life and people.
Veneda is preceded in death by her four children: Martin Lee, Veneda Dixon, Delone Lee, and Aleathia Lee, as well as her grandson Christopher, and great-grandson Michael.
The family would like to thank the brothers and sisters of the North and Southlake congregation for the love and guidance they have shown Veneda, in addition to the support they've given to the Lee family over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
