

Victor Oladejo Akande Sr was born in Ogbomosho, Nigeria on December 3, 1943. Victor was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Mabel, his children Abimbola, Maria and Victor Jr; his siblings Lydia, Pate, Adunni, and Digba as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his grandson Andre.
As a young man Victor immigrated to the United States with his wife Mabel. While in the USA He earned a BS in public health and Masters in Optics, and honorary doctorate in Philosophy. He worked actively in the optometry field for over 40 years.
Victor had a love of music, from traditional Juju, Highlife and Afrobeat to classic R & B, country and rock & roll. He also loved sports, boxing, tennis, and football (soccer) being his favorites.
Victor was the type of man who could walk into nearly any situation in any room not knowing anyone, but converting everyone to friendship before he left.
He was a diligent and focused worker and a man of integrity. He was dedicated to his community and well respected by his peers
What was most important to Victor is his family and his faith. No matter what obstacles or challenges he encountered he never wavered from supporting and guiding his family and practicing his faith.
Victor was a great man and his impact will be felt for generations. He is truly missed and dearly loved.
A funeral service for Victor will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 3150 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084. Burial to follow chapel service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Highway, Tucker, GA 30084.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday April 1 at 2:00 PM at Indian Creek Baptist Church-3901 Rockbridge Road, Stone Mountain, GA 30083
