Violet "Vicky" (Stamos) Conklin

Vicky served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and was proud to say she was in the reserves and could have been called back up for service at any time.

Vicky met Bob, her husband of 62 years, as a pen pal during the war and married him soon after it ended. They enjoyed traveling the continent in their Airstream trailer as members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI). They square danced across many floors and made many friends everywhere they traveled. She visited every province in Canada, every state in Mexico, and all 49 states on the continent, only missing Hawaii because they couldn’t drive there. For 22 years they wintered in Pharr, Texas and spent the summers in Palmyra, Wisconsin. She was a resident of Lilburn, GA for the last 15 years. Vicky was a resident of The Atria of Tucker for the past year. Everywhere she went she made friends. She loved to tell stories of her past exploits and never failed to engage her audience. Her eyes would twinkle when she told her war stories, when asked what did you do in the war Gramma? She loved her family dearly, and her friends like family.

Vicky was a member of The Order of Eastern Star for 69 years and active in the Parents Club of Georgia DeMolay, where she was known affectionately as “The Graminator”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Christopher Stamos and Beatrice Taillon Stamos, Brothers Christopher and James, Sisters Evelyn (Gloria) Morey and Marion (Queenie) Croft, a daughter, Sharon Sue Mansk and great granddaughter, Samantha Violet Perryman.

Vicky is survived by daughters, Cindy (Greg) Eells of Lilburn, GA and Nancy (Phil) Sparagna of Fairfield Glade, TN, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
