Waldron initially came to America alone in 1962 to build a foundation to financially support his family and to establish the future success of his children. Waldron at first worked odd jobs then ultimately went to school to become a dental technician. Waldron loved gardening and farming. Where ever he lived, he planted and tilled the soil to grow fruits and vegetables from Jamaica: mango, avocado pear, yam, coco, papaya, banana, naseberry, scotch bonnet pepper, ackee, callaloo, gungo peas just to mention a few. He grew strawberries and would tell the story of his first grandchild following him around the garden in Pembroke Pines, asking him for strawberries. Which he would then pick off the bush, wash and hand to her.
He retired from his dental technician position in 1998, but continued gardening until he was no longer able.
