He was born in Bowdon, GA the son of the late Porter and Allie Jackson Chambers.
Mr. Chambers was a retired bus driver for MARTA.
A proud Army Air Corp veteran and a member of Tucker First United Methodist Church.
He had a love of gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Lura Dorsey Chambers of Tucker; his sons and daughters-in-law, Norman and Lisa Chamber, Lamar and Karen Chambers; his grandson, John Chambers. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Anna Chambers as well as his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 11 am at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Jimmy Moor officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Methodist Children's Home, 500 S. Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30033
