Zarko was born June 20th, 1951, in Novo Milosevo, Serbia—the son of Georgije Stanacev and Lidia Konstantinovich.
Zarko attended the University of Zagreb, where he received an Undergraduate and a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry Engineering.
Zarko married Dejana Selenic in 2001 and had their son Branko in 2004.
Zarko especially loved reading and watching movies and was passionate about protecting the environment. He also enjoyed helping around the house with hands-on projects.
“My Dad was the best father I could have ever asked for. He took such pride in being a father, but the best moments were the quiet ones. Me and him spending time at the zoo where he would take photos of me, swimming in the pool where he would hold and cherish me. Every moment with my Dad was my favorite memory of his.” -Branko, Zarko’s son.
Remaining to cherish Zarko’s memory are his wife Dejana, his son Branko, his daughter-in-law Edlimar, and their family dog Tanya.
Visitation and Memorial services will be held on Friday, July 25th, 2025, from 4-6 pm at Floral Hill Funeral Home.
