Alfred married the love of his life, Helen on July 16, 1951 and were together until he lost her 13 years ago. Now they are reunited. Alfred served in the 101st Airborne from 1947-1950 with Japanese evacuation forces. This is one of his proudest achievements. After retiring he opened his own neighborhood ice cream shop, the one and only A & H Cold Spot! Best chili dogs this side of Summit! His hobbies were cooking Thanksgiving Dinners for his family, even as it grew bigger and bigger and making SOS (s#!t on the shingles) for his family when they were younger. He loved race horses, raising horses, traveling to Las Vegas and the White Mountains, with the occasional trip to Disneyland or Seaworld. If any of his grandkids were in sports, he was there! From baseball games, softball games, volleyball games to basketball games. We could always count on both Nanita and Tata to be there. Can’t forget the secret trips to the casino.
Alfred is preceded in death by his wife Helen (13 years ago) and daughter Clorinda (7 years ago).
Alfred is survived by: Alfred Jr. (Raquel), Robert Sr.(Gloria), Frank (Cathy), Irene Cardenas (Tony), Robert Jr., Frances Chavez (Gus). 14 Grandchildren, 37 Great grandchildren, and 1 great great child!
Alfred’s family would like to thank everyone for the love and support during this time, family sure is a blessing.
