I met Amanda years back during a DUI Task force dinner in memory of my father, DPS Officer Juan Cruz. Amanda was always so kind to me and my family. Always supportive and gave the best hugs even in uniform. Amanda became a friend and someone I admired. She supported my daughters passion as a camp advisor at Camp Abilities for the blind, deaf, and challenged children. She had her officers visit the children one night of their camp week. The children loved it! She brought her daughters one if the years and she said they loved it. I know how much she adored her girls! I will always remember Amanda’s kindness, strength, and beautiful smile. I’ll miss her very much! God bless her and all her family. My deepest and sincerest condolences.
