

Anthony Stanley Balda, 73 went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2021 in Tucson AZ. Tony was born in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Jane Balda on May 5th 1948. His family moved to Tucson in 1952. He grew up loving to hunt and fish, one of his favorite hobbies was to catch all kinds of snakes. He was also a Boy Scout and loved Scouting adventures.
He graduated from Rincon High School in 1966. Later he served in the Army and at that time he had a life changing experience with Jesus Christ. When he returned to Tucson he lived at Maranatha House which was a Christian outreach to young people. In 1973 he married Marcia Sebest.
He went on to attend the University of Arizona and graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Degree. He then pursued a career in Horticulture worked for several landscape companies and tree trimming services. The last being Quality Tree Service.
As his family grew he taught each of his children how to fish. Many summers were spent in the White Mts or camping on Mt Lemmon. He loved to be involved in his children's and grand children's activities including, volleyball, softball, baseball, soccer and swimming. He spent plenty of time coaching, timing at swim meets and becoming an avid soccer fan. There were also many of their concerts and musical performances to attend.
He himself loved to play softball. He coached and played in a Christian Coed Softball league for many years.
Something else that was very important to him was the many opportunities he had to share his love of Jesus Christ with others, especially at the Gospel Rescue Mission.
He loved to cultivate plants to sell at his plant sales and spent many hours taking care of his yard. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He touched countless lives, was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife Marcia
Children: Karin, Melissa, Deanna, Althaea and Stephen.
Grandchildren: Christian, Audrey, Ben, Mary, Adam and Sawyer.
Many nieces and nephews
Siblings: James Balda, Cheryl Pielmeier and Michael (Loralie) Balda.
Proceeded in Death by his parents Robert and Jane Balda.
Siblings: Harold, Shirley Ann and Robert
And daughter Tamara.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM October 2, 2021
At Sabino Rd Baptist Church 2710 N Sabino Canyon Rd Tucson.
