

Obituary
Arnett Cosby, known to his family as “Moody”, and to his military family as “Cos”, was the oldest of the grandchildren to the late John H. Curtis and Zipporah Cosby Curtis. His grandparents helped to raise him.
Arnett attended the public school system in Chicago, Illinois. After returning to Mississippi with his mother, he finished his last year of high school in Coffeeville, Mississippi in 1972. He worked a short time at McQuay, Inc. in Granada, Mississippi, and had his first child during this time, Sholenda Chambers.
Arnett enlisted in the Air Force in 1975 as an Avionics Specialist. He did his basic training in Denver, Colorado. While stationed there, he met and married the love of his life, Sharon Marsh. To this union, one son was born, DuJuan Cosby.
Arnett received Outstanding Achievements, Letters of Congratulations, and Letters of Appreciation at his 355 AGS Tactical Fighter Wing. During the remainder of his career, he was awarded a “Good Conduct Medal”, two AF Achievement Medals with his 1st Oakleaf Cluster; three AF Commendation Medals with 2 Oakleaf Clusters and more. During the time he was enlisted he was stationed in Colorado, Arizona, Alaska, Korea, and Delaware, Arnett also served in Operation Desert Storm and retired from the Air Force after a service of 20 years. He then made Tucson his home and was proud to serve his country.
Arnett loved sports of all kinds. During his early years he played basketball, baseball, and football. In the military he played basketball for his base team. He also played and coached for a city league team called “The Misfits”; and he coached his son’s little league baseball and soccer teams. Arnett loved shopping for clothes, shoes, and jewelry; loved going to the casino and talking on the phone for hours with family and friends.
Since his death in March, his brother-in-law Franklin Ford and his sister Gloria Denson have passed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 44 years, Sharon Cosby, son DuJuan Cosby both of Tucson, Arizona; daughter Sholenda Hollins (Ken) of Fort Worth, Texas; stepmother Dean Denson of Illinois; two sisters, Ardis Amos (Greg) of Mississippi, Shirley Denson Love (Shell) of Illinois; four brothers, Victor Arrington (Adrian), Ronald Robertson, Anthony Arrington (Theresa), and Scott Denson III (Verenda) of Illinois; sister-in-law Kathy Ford of Aurora, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Michael Marsh (Tiffany) of Aurora, Colorado and Charles Marsh III (Cathy) of Fayetteville, North Carolina. He will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
