Arthur G Ortiz Sr.

Arthur G. Ortiz was born in Tucson, AZ December 31st, 1935, and passed away March 6th, 2022. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Flora G. Ortiz, great-grandson Arthur IV and great-granddaughter Dezerae. He is survived by his daughter Carmen, three sons, Arthur II (Lucy), Michael and Peter (Adriana), 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. As a child, he worked in lettuce fields. Then later, served in the US Army, and was a truck driver, but was always a full-time Dad and Tata. He was heavily involved in the lives of his dozens of grandchildren – whether it be the upbringing of some, being in charge of school carpools, and helping his wife baby-sit any of the little ones. After his wife passed away in 2014, he carried on their legacy of taking care of those in need, and remained the rock of the family. On his free time, he enjoyed fixing cars, going to the casino, playing lottery scratchers, watching baseball games, and lounging in his recliner watching old western movies. When he passed away, he was in the comfort of his own home and surrounded by those who love and adore him. He will be greatly missed, but is now reunited with his wife and loved ones in eternal life.

Services will be held at Funeraria del Angel South Lawn (5401 South Park Ave, Tucson, AZ 85706) Tuesday, March 15th, 2022. Viewing at 9:00am, Rosary at 10:00am and burial to follow.
