On August 28, 2025, Carole Sue Edmons (nee Hanna) was called home to be with her Savior. Carole Sue was born on May 26, 1942, in Elmhurst, Illinois. She and her family moved to Terre Haute, Indiana, in 1945. There, she attended Schulte High School and went on to study journalism at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
Carole Sue married her beloved husband, Bill, on November 17, 1962; over the years, they lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Schenectady, New York; Reynoldsburg, Worthington, Dayton, and Milford, Ohio; and Green Valley, Arizona. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her father, Owen, in 1988, and by her mother, Doris, in 2003. Carole Sue is cherished and survived by her four children, Jeff (Kathy), Cinda (Matt), Paul, and Tim; five grandchildren, Karen (Chad), Kate (Anthony), Jefferson, Grace, and Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Taj, Owen, and Roman. She is also survived by her much-loved siblings, Owen, William (Vivian), and Margaret Anne.
Carole Sue was an accomplished seamstress and lovingly created clothing, costumes, and toys for her kids and grandkids over the years. She loved sports and games and was a cheerleader, a champion tennis player, a bowler, a soccer coach, a golfer, and an avid fan of just about any sporting event that could be found to watch. She was a poet and a voracious reader. Carole Sue had a teacher’s heart, and she spent all of our childhood hours teaching us to read, to write, to play cards, to love Jesus, and to be ready for life.
Carole Sue was a selfless servant, and her faith was the underpinning of every aspect of her life. She was a member of countless ministries and a prayer warrior. She was joyful and full of grace, and what she wanted most of all was for all of her family and friends to join her in heaven through faith in God and by knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior. We will see you there soon, Mom.
